KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT HAS APPROVED THE USE OF HIJAB IN ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE STATE

Kwara State Government has approved the use of hijab uniforms for Muslim schoolgirls in all public schools. Secretary to the government Mamma Sabah Jibril said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq gave the approval after meetings with leaders of both Muslim and Christian communities with a view to clarifying issues and reaching a consensus. “Consequently, the government hereby acknowledges and approves the right of the Muslim schoolgirl to wear the hijab, and directs the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development to come up with a uniform hijab for all public/ grant-aided schools, which will be the accepted mode of head covering in schools,” Jibril said in a statement.  “Also, the government affirms the right of every child in public schools to freedom of worship.” “Any willing schoolgirl with the approved (uniform) hijab shall have the right to wear same in public/grant-aided schools,” Jibril said in a statement. LASTMA OFFICIALS TO START CARRYING BODY CAMERA- GM

The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Olajide Oduyoye, says officials of the agency will begin to monitor traffic violation with the use of smart body cameras. He stated this on Friday while speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ programme. The LASTMA general manager said, “Technology is the way to go. Our Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is on top of that. He approved the deployment of technology for us to improve our communication last year 2020. “This year, we are definitely hoping to start in the next few weeks what you will say are non-approachable offence dealings. That means we are going to be having body cameras on officers to capture incidences because things happen so fast and you can’t really say let me get my camera. BANDITS KIDNAPPED HUNDREDS OF FEMALE STUDENTS IN ZAMFARA

A report by Daily Trust indicates that suspected gunmen have kidnapped some students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara state. It was reported that the incident happened in the early hours of Friday, February 26. According to the report, a resident of Kawaye village identified as Sadi Kawaye said that his daughters, Mansura and Sakina were among those abducted. The state police public relations officer, SP Muhammad Shehu, said he could not react to the incident yet, adding that he needed time to verify it. He said: “Give me some time, I can’t say anything now.” It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the school and herded the children away. The online medium stated that scores of the terrorists were said to have overrun a military checkpoint closeby before storming the school.
